^XF — Recall a Stored Format

Goal

Recall a stored format with ^XF.

Description

^XF recalls the format stored in the previous lesson and fills its numbered fields with ^FD data. Stored once, printed a thousand ways.

Example

^XA
^XFR:STORED.ZPL
^FN1^FDHello recall^FS
^XZ

Rendered ^XF label

Result

The preview is near-empty: STORED.ZPL is not in preview memory — on a printer “Hello recall” fills field 1.
