What lives here
This section documents every linter that checks the PHP code of this site, in the order a change usually meets them:
- php -l and lint-php.sh — syntax gate, runs first and blocks everything else on failure.
- PHPCS: PHP CodeSniffer — code style reporting.
- phpcs.xml — ruleset file: excludes, properties, per-line opt-outs.
- PHPCBF — auto-fixing with proof of zero change.
- wrap-long-lines.sh — our own line-length wrapper with a php -l safety gate.
- PHPStan and Psalm — static analysis that finds real bugs, not style.
Every article follows the same shape: how to install the tool, a minimal example, a more complex real-world invocation, and the exact fixes this tool produced while cleaning up the src/ tree.
