Attention: if JavaScript is disabled in your browser JavaScript or you use specific extensions and blockers - I am not responsible for formulas being invisible to you.
Let us try writing a formula in
HTML
with mathjax.
Go to
mathjax.org
copy the current code from there and paste it on the site.
As of February 2020 the current code looks like this
<script id="MathJax-script" async src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/mathjax@3/es5/tex-mml-chtml.js"></script>
After that you can start writing formulas.
For example, write that acceleration is force divided by mass.
$$a = {F \over m}$$
Result:
Square root
$$v = { \sqrt{E \over m}}$$
Result:
Roots of a quadratic equation
$$x_1,_2 = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}$$
How to add a space
Consider the formula
$$ 1 watt = 1 W = {1 joule\over 1 second} = J/s = 1 J s{^-1} $$
As you see, 1 and joule are written without a space. It does not look nice
If you now add a backslash after 1, spaces appear
$$ 1\ watt = 1\ W = {1\ joule\over 1\ second} = J/s = 1\ J s^{-1} $$

A new release of the program
LaTeX2HTML 2018
,
for converting source documents in LaTeX format into web pages with HTML markup.
Splitting a document into several linked HTML files is supported, with automatically generated navigation panels, cross-references, table of contents and footnotes.
Complex formulas and tables can be exported as images, which can be embedded inline in HTML without saving to separate files.
Project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license. For the Russian-speaking community the most interesting change in the new version is the added Russian locale support, including KOI8-R, CP1251 and UTF-8 encodings.
