Install NASM on Ubuntu

Update apt

On Ubuntu NASM lives in the system repositories. Refresh the package list first:

sudo apt update

Install nasm

Install nasm with apt. It brings the assembler and the man pages:

sudo apt install nasm

nasm -v

Check the assembler after the install. The linker (ld) ships with binutils, which is already installed:

nasm -v
